Legendary car builder John Buttera, died March 2 after a long battle with cancer, at the age of 67.
'Lil John' built winning Funny Cars and dragsters in the 1970s, initially for Mickey Thompson, then for other stars of drag racing after opening his own shop. He was well known for his show stopping street rods and custom cars.
Buttera is survived by his son, Chris, daughter, Leigh, son-in-law Ronnie Capps, granddaughter, Katie, and grandson, Max.
